These Are Mina Starsiak Hawk's 10 Best Renovation Tips
As fans of the show ourselves, we decided to round up the best advice from 7 seasons of strategic renovations (including asking Hawk herself for some faves!). Here are her top 10 tips.
1.Simple curb appeal works wonders
“Summer is the best time of the year to add curb appeal to your home,” Hawk tells House Beautiful. “An easy project would be to add flower boxes beneath your windows. They are simple to DIY and won’t break the bank.”

If you’re tired of wooden spindles on your porch or inside your home, trade them out for a fresh new look. “Unique and contemporary railings for stairs and porches are on-trend, and we love using them as a fun, subtle addition to the interior design,” Hawk divulged in a recent Instagram post.
3. You should always save your trim
If you’re renovating an older home, don’t scrap everything! “Millwork, including molding and trim, is a detail that brings a traditional feeling and can be modernized with a paint color coordinated to the space,” Hawk explains.

6. The right curtains make a room
“It’s a very outdated look to hang your curtain right at the window,” said Hayden Worth, interior designer for Two Chicks and a Hammer, in a recent Instagram post. “So play with height and hang your curtains two to three inches outside the window so that your curtains fall on either side of the window.” Read More...
