Three days of the World Harp Festival arrive at CPJÂ
On Thursday the 7th, Friday the 8th and Saturday the 9th of April, the 14th edition of the World Harp Festival will be held, with free and open access. The concerts will take place at the Agustín Pío Barrios theater of the Japanese Paraguayan Center (CPJ) and will be broadcast live on the Youtube channel of the World Harp Festival in Paraguay, while the workshops will be face-to-face with prior scheduling.
As part of the official presentation tomorrow, in the central hall of the Palacio Benigno López (Palma and 14 de Mayo), headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an award ceremony will be held for the outstanding Paraguayan harpist Nicolás Nicolasito Caballero, with the National Order of Merit Don José Falcón.
Schedule. The festival begins on Thursday 7, at 8:30 p.m., with the fusion of EuroLatin PY, which brings a proposal with a symphonic sound, with the National Symphony Orchestra of Paraguay (OSN).
Then, Martín Portillo More will present a sample of the artistic moment he is experiencing. Dina Celeste will follow with a different and subtle proposal, from Caaguazú. Later, Los Acuña will delight with a repertoire that honors the harpist Tito Acuña. Jimmy Alfonso will follow with his characteristic touch full of personality and experience.
On the second day, the Harmony and Interpretation Resources Workshop will be held, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, in CPJ's Branislava Sušnik Seminar Room, with speaker Koki Cabañas. On the same day, at 8:30 p.m., the concert by Gabriel Sasanuma Septeto will be presented with a proposal that combines various forms and musical aesthetics.
Miguel Ángel Ramírez will bring the stylistic sonority of the harp plus an accompaniment reconstructed on the roots of Paraguayan music. Ezequiel Takebe, Diego Ortiz, the Musical Group La Selección, Ignacio Gaona & his group and Los Nuevos Caballeros del Campo will be other guests.
For the third day, the Techniques for the interpretation of the Paraguayan harp workshop is being prepared, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, in CPJ's Branislava Sušnik seminar room with a dissertation by Martín Portillo. Read More…
