Tommy Cash to Represent Estonia at Eurovision Song Contest 2025
Estonian artist Tommy Cash has emerged victorious at the Eesti Laul competition, securing his place to represent Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with his song "Espresso Macchiato." Cash won an impressive 83 percent of the public vote, outperforming 15 other contestants.
After his win, Cash expressed his gratitude to the audience, stating, "I am so happy that so many of you understood my story. I am honored to be able to do my best for Estonia." The winner was determined through a combination of public votes and an international jury, highlighting the broad appeal of his performance.
Following the announcement, President Alar Karis congratulated Cash on social media, sharing a playful photo of a takeaway coffee cup—a nod to Cash's stage prop and the "Espresso Macchiato" music video—alongside a napkin from the Presidential Palace in Kadriorg Park. "Congratulations Tommy Cash!" he wrote.
In a press conference after his victory, Cash made it clear that he is aiming for the top spot at Eurovision. "I want first place. I'm going after it. But there are still three months to go, and we will start working on it. Already next week, you will see things happening," he said, hinting at exciting developments in the lead-up to the contest.
While Cash does not plan to completely overhaul his stage show, he is open to audience feedback and has already planned some changes. "Dance is a big part of this character. The idea was to create character-specific movement," he explained.
Cash has connections with fellow Eurovision participants, including Käärijä, who represented Finland in 2023, and Joost Klein, who represented the Netherlands last year. He shared that their advice has been invaluable, saying, "It's terrible to know them because it's like having two completely different parents. One is all fun and games, while the other is more thoughtful and restrained."
He added, "I'm getting advice from both, and I have to put together my own world. In the end, we will do what belongs to Tommy Cash's world because Tommy Cash's world existed before Joost Klein's world and before Käärijä's world."
The Eurovision Song Contest will take place in May in Switzerland, and as the date approaches, excitement builds for Cash's performance. With his unique style and strong vision, he aims to make a memorable impact on the international stage, representing Estonia with pride.
