Trio Espumante launches its first production
Four scenes is the name of the first promo that marks the professional debut of the Venezuelan group Espumante. This is also the name of the trio's album, which will go on sale in the second half of April.
Jorge Torres, on the mandolin; Gustavo Medina, on guitar; and José “Tipo” Núñez, on drums, are the members of the group.
They, after having shared classrooms at Unearte and playing in other musical projects, decided to get together four years ago for this one. “It was recorded in 2018, but the pandemic arrived and that added to the fact that making independent music is complicated,” said Torres.
This instrumental material mixes elements of traditional Venezuelan music, with jazz and rock. “Each song has that touch that is very important to highlight. It is cinematographic music”, explained the mandolinist.
Seven pieces make up the album that was recorded entirely on mandolin, guitar and drums. “Making this Format without a bass was a challenge to be able to fill those gaps. We only had Joel Martínez as a guest on the trombone at some point”. Read More…
