U-17 World Cup in Peru: Government gave guarantees for the tournament to take place in 2023
The U-17 World Cup, postponed from 2021 to 2023, will be in Peru. One day before the expiration of the term established by FIFA, the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), through its president Agustín Lozano, confirmed that the guarantees of the Government of Peru were received, for the tournament to take place next year in National territory.
The head of the FPF reported the news through his Instagram account, after holding a meeting with the President of the Republic of Peru, Pedro Castillo. “I want to share great news with everyone. Peru received guarantees from the Government to host the 2023 U-17 World Cup,” he wrote.
In one of the postcards in the publication, Lozano and the Peruvian president held the document addressed to the FIFA president, Gianni Infantino, to express the government's commitment to support him in everything necessary to carry out the competition.
“On behalf of the Peruvian Government, we express the “Government Declaration”, through which we express our formal intention to collaborate with the National Football Sports Federation (FPF), to ensure the success of the aforementioned sporting event and supporting all the government guarantees offered. in relation to the FIFA U-17 World Cup Peru 2021, especially with regard to investment in educational infrastructure, organization costs, security and government guarantees (which are linked to entry and greeting permits for delegations, permits of work, foreign exchange, security, legal framework and legal issues, exploitation and protection of commercial rights, telecommunications, IT issues and tax exemption),that will apply to the 20th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup to be held in Peru in 2023″, says the initial part of the text.
“In this sense, I reiterate the optimism and honor that Peru will host the next FIFA U-17 World Cup Peru 2023 and express the sentiments of my special consideration” , is the final paragraph of the document delivered by the president and dated April 28, 2022.
