It's another win for Texas over California.
Beloved Texan fast food chain Whataburger has taken the title of the healthiest cheeseburger in the United States, according to a recent study comparing cheeseburgers from major fast food chains in the country, including In-N-Out, Dairy Queen, Carls Jr, McDonald's, Wendys, Five Guys, Del Taco, Hardees, and Culvers.
The research looked at the cheeseburger's sugar, fat, sodium, and calorie count to determine a score for 'health factor.' The Whataburger with cheese was found to have the second lowest fat and calorie content (per ounce) compared to the other burgers. The burger also has less salt and sugar in comparison to the competitors, putting it at the top of the list.
"The research team took the standard cheeseburger option from each outlet (where data was available), and analyzed each burger for sugar, fat, salt and calorie content (per ounce). Lower amounts of these four nutritional values are a good thing - so the lower the quantity, the higher the healthiness score is out of 10."
Whataburger came first overall, just ahead of In-N-Out, with the two chains well in front of the rest of the field. Read More…
