WhatsApp for Android is set to undergo design modifications that will bring it closer in appearance to the iOS version of the messaging platform. Recent reports indicate that WhatsApp is testing a bottom navigation bar and there are also plans for a new message menu. Continue reading for more details.
According to a report from WABetaInfo, the messaging giant owned by Meta is planning to introduce a revamped Context Menu for Android. This update is part of the latest beta version 2.23.11.4 of WhatsApp for Android.

As shown in the provided screenshot, when you press and hold a message, the emoji bar will appear at the top, while the context menu will be displayed at the bottom as a drop-down floating menu. All the existing context menu options such as Delete, Forward, Reply, Keep, and Info will still be available. Currently, these options are located at the top.
By consolidating these options in a single location, the WhatsApp interface on Android is becoming more similar to the context menu on iOS. This change will enhance accessibility and create a consistent experience across both iOS and Android WhatsApp apps.
In addition to design modifications, WhatsApp is also working on another feature for its Android app, inspired by iOS. It is testing the ability to edit and save contacts directly within the app, eliminating the need to redirect users to the Phone app. This improvement will simplify the process for users.
It's important to note that these changes are still in development, and there is no information available regarding their release date for the general public. However, considering WhatsApp's frequent introduction of new features, we can anticipate this update to arrive soon. We will keep you informed about any updates. Therefore, stay tuned and feel free to share your thoughts on the redesigned Context Menu for Android.
