A startup CEO shared a screenshot of an exchange between him and a woman he reached out with a job offer. His post has sparked a conversation on Twitter.
Several people on LinkedIn receive messages from HR's of different companies regarding job offers. It's generally common for HR or managers to identify people and reach out to them with an offer. Roshan Patel, CEO of a startup, did something similar two years ago. However, he didn't get the response that he expected. Now Patel shared a screenshot of the conversation on Twitter, which has sparked a debate among netizens.
"Still thinking about this exchange almost 2 years later," wrote Rohan Patel on Twitter, along with a screenshot of a conversation. In the screenshot, Patel messages a software engineer and introduces his business to her. He also informs her that he has just received funding for his business and is looking for engineers. To this, the woman replies by saying, "Hi Roshan. I just checked on Crunchbase, and my salary is currently more than your entire pre-seed round."
