Women's Handball Players to Receive 1.5 Million Denars for World Cup Qualification
Macedonian handball players have been given an extra incentive in their quest to qualify for the World Championship, as the Board of Directors of the Handball Federation has announced a special bonus. The Federation will award a cash prize of 1.5 million denars if the women's handball team successfully eliminates Poland and secures a spot in the World Championship.
In an official statement, the Handball Federation of Macedonia outlined the decision made on April 7, 2025, citing the urgency of the matter and referencing specific articles from their statute. The announcement emphasized the importance of this financial reward as a motivation for the team during the qualifying play-off matches against Poland.
The cash prize of 1,500,000 denars will be awarded to the Macedonian senior women's handball team for their successful placement in the upcoming World Championship through the qualifying matches. The first match against Poland is set to take place on April 9 at 8:30 PM, followed by the return match in Bitola on April 12 at 7:00 PM.
This initiative reflects the Federation's commitment to supporting the women's team and encouraging them to perform at their best during this critical stage of qualification. The added financial incentive is expected to boost morale and drive the players as they aim for success on the international stage.
