Archaeological Zone of Cajamarquilla celebrated 22 years as Cultural Heritage of the Nation
The mayor of Lurigancho-Chosica, Eng. Oswaldo Vargas Cuéllar, announced the installation of the Inter-institutional Technical Development Board to contribute to the enhancement of the archaeological site of Cajamarquilla.
With a traditional and symbolic payment to the land, the Municipality of Lurigancho, together with the Ministry of Culture, the National University of San Marcos, the Institute of Housing, Urbanism and Construction (IVUC) of the University of San Martin de Porres and the NGO CESAL, celebrated the 22nd Anniversary of the declaration as Cultural Heritage of the Nation, of the archaeological zone of Cajamarquilla, last Friday, February 3.
In his speech, the Chosican burgomaster highlighted the cultural richness and tourist potential that the whole of Cajamarquilla represents, due to its history and architecture.
"Having Cajamarquilla in our district, an important archaeological site with impressive architecture, fills us with pride, so contributing to its enhancement is a commitment for us," said Eng. Oswaldo Vargas.

The Chosican mayoral authority announced the installation of the Inter-institutional Technical Development Board for the contribution to the enhancement of the archaeological site of Cajamarquilla, committing the participation and active articulation of all the actors who yearn to turn this citadel into a development pole for community.
"We are going to work on projects that allow us to improve, care for, preserve and promote tourism in this archaeological complex in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture-MINCUL, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism-MINCETUR, the National Chamber of Tourism-CANATUR, the academy , civil society and the private sector", the mayor's authority of Chosica delimited.

Likewise, he announced that he will convene the Municipal Association of Lima East , of which he is vice president, to boost and promote the Cajamarquilla area as a tourist-cultural center that stimulates the development of the areas adjacent to this important archaeological site. Read More…
