The president of the Oversight Commission, Héctor Ventura (Popular Force), announced that he summoned the former president, Pedro Castillo, to testify regarding the ongoing investigation into alleged acts of corruption in the award of water and sanitation in Chadín, Anguía and Chachapoyas.
The session will take place on Wednesday, February 15, and the former head of state in the Barbadillo prison, a facility where he is serving pretrial detention after being arrested after his failed attempt to carry out a self-coup, was notified through a document dated February 10. .
The investigation also includes the former first lady, Lilia Paredes Navarro; her sister-in-law, Yenifer Paredes; and former ministers, mayors, senior officials and businessmen linked to the irregular tenders in the Ministry of Housing.
Because he does not have the prerogatives of a sitting president, Castillo Terrones is obliged to appear before the commission, according to Ventura Ángel.
