BiH Records Decrease in Number of Registered Vehicles
In March of this year, Bosnia and Herzegovina saw a total of 8,993 motor vehicles registered for the first time, marking a slight decrease of 0.3 percent compared to March of the previous year, when 9,023 vehicles were registered.
Among the newly registered vehicles, passenger cars accounted for the majority at 75.2 percent, followed by trucks at 6.8 percent, motorcycles at 4.4 percent, and trailers at 3.7 percent. Other categories included special vehicles and mopeds (1.3 percent), semi-trailers (1.2 percent), and road tractors (1 percent), according to data from the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The number of new motor vehicles registered also declined, with 1,330 new vehicles recorded, representing an 8.9 percent decrease compared to the same month last year. New vehicles made up 14.8 percent of the total registrations in March.
Notably, 57.1 percent of the new vehicles registered were done so by individuals. In the category of new passenger cars, gasoline-powered vehicles held the largest share at 51.1 percent. This data reflects ongoing trends in vehicle registration and consumer preferences in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
