Czech Startup E2B Raises $11.5M to Build Cloud Infrastructure for AI Agents
Czech startup E2B has successfully secured $11.5 million (€10.6 million) in a seed funding round led by Alessio Fanelli of Decibel Partners. Founded in 2023 by childhood friends Tomáš Valenta and Václav Mlejnský, E2B originated from their early ventures in iPhone game development. As they pursued their studies at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, the duo shifted their focus towards computer vision and began developing various tools to assist developers.
E2B is now dedicated to creating cloud infrastructure specifically tailored for AI agents and applications. "At E2B, we’re building an open-source cloud environment for the era of software built by artificial intelligence and AI agents," Mlejnský stated.
AI agents are applications that can operate as virtual software developers or assistants, streamlining various development processes. E2B’s platform aims to simplify the execution and testing of AI-generated code within "sandboxes"—secure testing environments that utilize a company’s own data. Additionally, the platform facilitates the analysis and visualization of data through AI-generated code, enhancing the capabilities of developers and organizations in leveraging artificial intelligence.
With this funding, E2B plans to further develop its innovative cloud infrastructure, positioning itself at the forefront of the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
