From September 10 to 24, the cinema takes over Sumapaz, with the second edition of the El Cine Suma Paz International Film Festival , in which 80 films will participate that Colombians will be able to see, free of charge, through its official platform.
For this second edition of the festival, which aims to promote national and international audiovisual production on issues related to the culture of peace and the protection of the environment, there will be a large academic agenda, it will have digital and face-to-face spaces.
The director of the festival, Christian Ossa, pondered how “this is a great opportunity to make visible the stories of the community and the relationship between the protection of our environment and the culture of peace. Cinema is the perfect tool to generate bridges of communication and dialogue between us, as well as nourish ourselves with experiences related to the themes of the festival where the world has already explored paths and historical solutions, which sometimes we do not know and make it impossible to implement them in our daily lives. ”.
Likewise, the festival will be a space in which the protection of the ecosystem, Colombian biodiversity and human relations with the environmental and social environments will be protagonists.
It is worth mentioning that, within the framework of the festival, activities will be carried out with the communities of the provinces of Sumapaz, municipalities of Cundinamarca, Meta, Huila and the city of Bogotá, to exchange experiences through an academic agenda and the production of cinematographic contents that portray the symbiotic relationship between the culture of peace and the protection of the environment, developed in a territory where complex processes of armed conflict have historically existed and an intrinsic commitment to the protection of the world's largest moorland system, which not only It is a scenario of water production, but it allows the flow and cycle of life of everything that inhabits the planet, as is the Páramo de Sumapaz.
