After the Letrux and Fogo Fogo concerts, it's time for Fatoumata Diawara, one of the most creative and explosive African artists today, to perform at Theatro Circo.
Born in Ivory Coast, but born in a village in Mali, singer, songwriter, guitarist and actress Fatoumata Diawara passes through Portugal to present her second solo album, “Fenfo”, on August 19, at 9:30 pm.
Before going solo as a songwriter, Fatoumata was an actress and participated as a backing vocalist for artists such as singer Oumou Sangaré. Having played with some of the biggest names in contemporary music such as Bobby Womack, Herbie Hancock, Roberto Fonseca, Amadou & Mariam, Oumou Sangaré, Toumani Diabaté, Flea and many others, Diawara recently performed at Carnegie Hall alongside David Crosby, Chris Thile , Snarky Puppy, in a performance described by Rolling Stone as “hypnotic and captivating”.
