First Afrocentrist conference to take place in Portugal will take place in Lisbon
Kweli is the first Afrocentrist conference to take place in Portugal, on the 22nd of October, from 9 am to 7 pm, at the Lisbon Metro Auditorium.
The initiative aims to reflect on how Afro-Europeans and Africans challenge the dominant modes of representation and production of knowledge, rescuing spaces, citizenship, knowledge and organization.
The conference dialogues with the emerging dynamism of the growing decolonial movements and the calls to rethink the dominant modes of production and representation of knowledge, through speakers from different social and professional areas.
The keynote poster is made up of well-known names among the Portuguese-speaking African community, such as the artist and entrepreneur Rahiz, the financial coach Abdel Camará, the lawyers Queenzinga and Mimi Malkia, the naturopathic doctor Randy Neto, the meditation coach Panefas Touch Dina, the psychologist Henda Vieira-Lopes and university professor Toy Cristóvão.
The event will also be promoted by the artist Jota Jr and the presenter Vilma Furtado.
Focusing on empowerment, the different panels will address topics such as financial freedom, cultural and legal pluralism, African psychology and emotional autonomy, art and spirituality, nutrition and genetics, self-esteem, the condition of women and the position of the African continent in global diplomacy.
