Gondola lift in Solina. A new attraction in the Bieszczady Mountains
On Friday, in the presence of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, the gondola lift was opened over the dam in Solina in the Bieszczady Mountains. The investment carried out by PKL cost almost PLN 120 million.
Pitrus admitted in an interview with PAP that before the investment, PKL had checked the tourist traffic in the Bieszczady Mountains. - The traffic near the dam is high and there are a lot of tourists. And this new attraction will attract even more of them. Therefore, it was not a risky decision when it comes to location - he said.
The president of PKL admitted that there were difficult moments during the construction , but all problems were overcome and the investment was completed on time. "The holiday season is beginning and we are also starting a new attraction," he added.
The construction of the cable car is also an important investment for the local labor market, which is extremely difficult in the Bieszczady Mountains. As Pitrus told PAP, over 100 people have found employment so far.
It is known that we are also in high season now, but many of these people will stay with us permanently. We will also expand our activities, including for a theme park, there will also be more and more of these people. The 100 people we have already employed are such a core , he said.
According to Pitrus, the new attraction in the Bieszczady Mountains will result in the creation of "new businesses that will create new jobs". “The cable car will be a magnet that will attract new investments and new attractions in the area. The region will surely benefit, because there have been no such attractions here so far, ”he said.
The authorities of the Solina commune and PKL are in the process of registering a joint company, which is to create further joint investments that will be attractions for tourists staying in the Bieszczady Mountains. Pitrus did not want to reveal the company's plans, but as Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki , who was present at the opening of the cable car on Friday, admitted, they were impressed by them.
