IGNITE! Music Festival 2024 Lineup Announced
Republic Polytechnic's (RP) renowned IGNITE! Music Festival has unveiled a stellar lineup for its 2024 edition, making it a highly anticipated event for music enthusiasts. This year’s festival is set to take place over two dynamic days, each featuring a diverse range of talented local musicians.
Day 1
Headliners for the first day include, FXTRT, shazza, Tell Lie Vision, motifs, Benjamin Kheng
Additionally, the winner of the IGNITE! Band Auditions will also have the opportunity to perform alongside these established artists.
Day 2
The second day’s lineup promises to be equally exciting, featuring performances from:
Maker Records (featuring members of Bakers in Space, Bennett Bay, and Ethel Yap), Elaine, ICEBOX, Pleasantry, WHYLUCAS, Josh Makazo, Subsonic Eye, Shye
Fringe Programmes
Beyond the main festival, IGNITE! will host several engaging fringe programmes:
- IGNITE! Tribute V: Gaia: Featuring performances by RP Jammerz, Arena, Replug, and Republic Rhapsody. This tribute event will cover local favourites and will be held at Republic Polytechnic’s South Agora Stage on 16 July.
- IGNITE! Sessions: Maker Records - Crossroads, Incubation workshops at *SCAPE The Ground Theatre on 18 July and 25 July. These sessions, led by James Lye (founder of Maker Records) and featuring insights from members of Bakers In Space (Eugene & Ernest), Bennett Bay, and Ethel Yap, will delve into performance techniques, acoustic music arrangements, songwriting, technical aspects, and more.
- IGNITE! Band Auditions: Finalists Pathetic Ordinary, JJDROY, Shinseina, Ahmadul Amin, Last Minute, Taledrops, Ezekiel, and Sarco will compete to join the festival lineup. The auditions will be held on 20 July at *SCAPE and judged by Zaini Tahir (Artistic Director, The Republic Cultural Centre), Gordon Khoo (Arts Programmer), James Lye, and David Siow (Steady State Records).
- IGNITE! Open Mic: Featuring selected RP students and alumni, this open mic session will showcase emerging talent. It will take place on 23 July from 12.30pm to 1.30pm at Artease @ TRCC.
