KFC Unveils Locations for Two New Luxembourg Restaurants
Fast-food chain KFC is set to expand its presence in Luxembourg with plans to open two new restaurants by the end of 2025. This announcement comes just months after the franchise launched its first outlet in the country.
KFC opened its inaugural restaurant in Luxembourg at the Belval Plaza shopping centre in October last year. The chain's second outlet is scheduled to open in Capellen in early October 2025, while the third location will be situated in the Gare district of Luxembourg City, close to the central train station.
Christophe Fournage, CEO of Firce Capital, which oversees KFC's operations in Luxembourg, previously stated that the franchise aims to open around ten restaurants by 2027. “There will be two or three new restaurants in 2025 and a total of ten or so by 2026-2027, and perhaps more after that,” he noted.
The Capellen restaurant will feature a drive-through service and will cover an area of 480 m². It will include a children's play area and is strategically located for easy access from the A6 motorway and Route d'Arlon. The area is currently underserved by fast-food options, with nearby establishments including Delhaize, Bauhaus, Kichechef, and Aldi.
In Luxembourg City, the KFC will open at 43 Avenue de la Gare, occupying a 200 m² ground floor space that was previously home to Foot Locker. This location is expected to attract significant foot traffic, benefiting from its proximity to the international train station, which sees nearly 50,000 visitors daily.
The new KFC locations will enter a competitive fast-food market in Luxembourg City, where major players like McDonald's, Burger King, Five Guys, Subway, and O'Tacos already operate along Avenue de la Gare. The area is experiencing revitalization, with new openings such as Sports Direct and Action, which aim to enhance the shopping district's appeal after a period of empty storefronts.
KFC's expansion into Capellen and Luxembourg City marks an exciting development for fast-food enthusiasts in the Grand Duchy. With plans for additional locations in the coming years, KFC aims to establish a strong foothold in Luxembourg's growing dining scene, catering to a diverse and mobile clientele.
