Users can learn about the types of buildings common in Lisbon and receive guidance on how to protect their homes and belongings. For instance, the platform offers practical advice, such as securing furniture to walls and creating an effective escape plan with family members.
Additionally, the LXResist platform encourages residents to prepare an emergency kit in advance, ensuring that they have the necessary supplies on hand in case of an emergency. This kit might include food, water, first-aid supplies, and other essentials that would be crucial in the aftermath of a disaster.
In an effort to keep citizens informed, Lisbon residents can also subscribe to receive SMS alerts from municipal civil protection services. By sending the text "AVISOSLX" to the number 927 944 000, residents can receive timely notifications specific to alerts in the capital, further enhancing their ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
