Maciej Kujawski had gained recent recognition for his portrayal of Stefan Dębek in the popular series "Na Wspólnej." He also showcased his talent in other notable productions such as "Two Sides of the Medal," "Lokatorzy," and "Klan." Since 1986, he had graced the stage of the Kwadrat Theatre, establishing himself as a prominent figure. Additionally, he was highly regarded for his work as a voice actor, particularly for assuming the role of Winnie the Pooh following the passing of Jan Kociniak (+69 years old).
This is yet another heartbreaking loss for Teatr Kwadrat, as they have recently mourned the departures of Wincenty Grabarczyk (+91) and Bronisław Surmiak (+89).
Dear Viewers and Friends, it is with profound sadness and deep regret that we inform you of the passing of our beloved friend and esteemed actor, who had been an integral part of our Theater since 1986: Last night, we bid farewell to Maciej, whose theatrical journey commenced in 1977 with "Journeys around Warsaw," directed by Andrzej Strzelecki, at Teatr na Woli in Warsaw, under the guidance of Tadeusz Łomnicki. We shall forever cherish his captivating performances in plays such as "Crazy Scissors," "Servant of Two Masters," "Donkey Summer," "My Friend Harvey," "Friendly Souls," and "Through the Park to Heaven." Despite the obstacles he faced, Maciej always found a way to make us laugh. Whenever he sensed someone's sadness, he would embody the voice of Winnie the Pooh (a character he lent his voice to for many years), bringing sunshine to their day. Maciek was our ray of light, emerging from behind the clouds whenever anyone needed him. Dear Maciek, you were not only a cherished friend but also an exceptional actor. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for all that you have bestowed upon us, both on stage and in friendship. Your absence will be deeply felt. May you rest in eternal peace. With sincere condolences, the Kwadrat Theatre team.
