Parliament to resume sittings after month-long break
Both houses of parliament are expected to resume sittings on Tuesday after a month long recess.
Key pending business for the national assembly includes consideration of the supplementary budget that seeks to reduce borrowing by 68Billion shillings.
The senate will also be determining the formula for sharing revenue amongst counties.
Given treasury has already submitted the first supplementary budget for the Kenya kwanza government, departmental committees will be occupied in considering the estimates with principle secretaries.
The committees are expected to submit their reports in two weeks.
Mps will also consider the budget policy statement for 2023-2024 during this coming session.
The house is also expected to consider the debt management strategy for 2023 as well as debate on the proposal to establish the office of official leader of the opposition. Read More…
