Plenty of Operatunity to listen to good music with Strike Up the Band to play in Palmerston North
This month, Strike Up the Band will be performing in Palmerston North, promising to transport seniors to a bygone era with the velvet voices and smooth sounds of New Zealand's finest instrumentalists.
Featuring the voices of Operatunity's principal resident artist Bonaventure Allan-Moetaua, NZ singer-actor Isaac Pawson, award-winning soprano Kelly Lim Harris, and Vanessa Kelly, one-half of the iconic 90s Kiwi pop duo Deep Obsession, the concert is sure to have the audience swaying in their seats.
The talented singers will be accompanied by a live band featuring some of New Zealand's most iconic instrumentalists, including trumpeter Mike Booth, saxophonist Lukas Fritsch, bassist Aaron Coddel, and pianist Grant Winterburn.
With swoon-worthy renditions of hit tunes such as "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend," "The Way You Look Tonight," "Bésame Mucho," "It Had to Be You," and "At Last," as well as seniors' favorite melodies such as "Sweet Georgia Brown" and more, Operatunity's artists will charm the audience.
Before the show, the crowd will have the opportunity to mingle with the performers over complimentary morning tea. Strike Up the Band will be coming to 22 centers across New Zealand, from Whangārei to Invercargill, and many places in between, bringing smiles to seniors' faces and making their toes tap.
