Police Prosecute 13 in Prague Public Transport Bribery Case
Police have launched criminal proceedings against 13 individuals in connection with suspected bribery involving public contracts at the Prague public transport company (DPP). This development was confirmed by prosecutor Adam Borgula from the Prague High Public Prosecutor's Office. The charges follow a police operation conducted by the National Centre against Organised Crime (NCOZ) at the DPP on Monday.
While the DPP is fully cooperating with the investigation, spokesperson Aneta Rehkova stated that the company has not yet been informed of the specific reasons for the police intervention. Reports indicate that the investigation may be centered on a contract for metro security that was awarded approximately 15 years ago.
This case is the latest in a series of investigations related to the DPP, including the notable Dosimeter case, which resulted in several officials being charged with bribery and corruption. The ongoing scrutiny highlights persistent concerns about corruption and the integrity of public contract processes within the organization.
Authorities continue to investigate the matter, aiming to uncover the full extent of the alleged bribery and ensure accountability for any wrongdoing. The case underscores the importance of transparency and ethical practices in public sector operations.
