Romania Reports 402 New Weekly COVID-19 Cases, Down 16.9% with Six Deaths
The National Public Health Institute (INSP) announced on Tuesday that Romania recorded 402 new cases of COVID-19 between October 28 and November 3, marking a 16.9% decrease compared to the previous week. This decline in new infections reflects ongoing efforts to manage the pandemic within the country.
Among the new cases, 128 were identified as reinfections, indicating that these individuals tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 more than 90 days after their initial infection. This statistic highlights the potential for reinfection and the importance of continued vigilance in monitoring and managing COVID-19.
Additionally, the INSP reported six deaths during this period, all of which involved individuals with pre-existing comorbidities. This underscores the ongoing risks associated with COVID-19, particularly for those with underlying health conditions.
As Romania continues to navigate the challenges posed by the pandemic, these figures serve as a reminder of the importance of public health measures and vaccination efforts to protect the population and reduce the spread of the virus.
