Sony is ALREADY working on the PlayStation 5, Sony's new president reveals
It’s been five years since Sony launched the PlayStation 4, and unsurprisingly, fans are hankering to get their hands on a new console.
Now, Sony’s new president has confirmed that the firm is working a new device.
Speaking to the Financial Times, Kenichiro Yoshida, Sony’s new president, said: “At this point, what I can say is it’s necessary to have a next-generation hardware.”
However, Mr Yoshida didn’t refer to it as the PlayStation 5, suggesting Sony may have a new name in the works.
But while Sony is said to be working on the new console, we may have a while to wait before it’s launched.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal earlier this year, John Kodera, head of PlayStation, said: “We will use the next three years to prepare the next step.”
This suggests that it may be 2021 before we see the new console.
