‘Stop denying students right to sit for national examinations'
Dar Es Salaam regional authority has directed all private schools not to deny students their right to do their national final examinations for non-payment of school fees.
It also condemned the conduct by some private schools to expel students who fail to meet their school’s standards, instead of helping them to excel.
The directives were issued over the weekend by the Dar es Salaam Regional Education Officer Alhaj Abdul Maulid, during the 19th graduation ceremony at St Anne Marie Academy held over the weekend at the school’s premises in Mbezi Kimara kwa Msuguri.
He said it was important for schools’ management and parents/guardians to solve school fees issues amicably before the examinations time, to avoid any act which may cause stress, disappointments and dejection on the part of students.
Alhaj Maulid expressed his happiness with the education standards that are provided by St Anne Marie Academy schools, saying other schools’ need to take a leaf.
Meanwhile, Alhaj Maulid told parents and guardians to make sure they are close to their children and do close follow up because the current statistics show that violence against children are on increasing trajectory. Read More…
