Sweden win Under-19 Women's World Floorball Championship on penalties
The final in Katowice in Poland went down to the wire, finishing 4-4 after regulation time following a Czech fightback.
Sweden had led 3-0 and then 4-1, but an Anna Bruchackova hat-trick brought the Czechs level.
Extra time produced no further goals so a shootout was required.
Maja Lindsjo was the hero in the Swedish goal, saving the decisive penalty from Bruchackova in sudden death.
Sweden scored two of seven penalties - through Emma Heander and Cajsa Alm - versus the Czech Republic's one.
Finland beat Switzerland 8-3 to claim the bronze medal, with Miisa Turunen scoring a hat-trick.
This is Sweden's record seventh Under-19 Women's World Floorball Championship title.
Finland, who were the defending champions, and Switzerland are the only other nations to have won the event. Read More…
