Teachers protest teaching in corridors or under trees
Several educators, directors, parents and students from the San Ramón, Jesús Misericordioso and Fernando de la Mora de Limpio public schools , Central Department , gathered this Tuesday in front of the Municipality headquarters to demonstrate and demand greater infrastructure works in the institutions.
The mobilization was led by the teachers, who point out that the children should teach under the trees or in the corridors and demand answers from the local authorities.
“Our students are teaching in the corridors. At the beginning there were two grades together giving classes in the corridor, the eighth and ninth, which are practically 62 students outside and our seventh (grade) who are 30. More than 100 students are practically in those conditions, "said a teacher through of Telefuture.
In addition, the protesters reported that since 2019 they have been taking steps so that the Municipality of Limpio, through the National Fund for Public Investment and Development (Fonacide), can expand these institutions or at least one of them.
In this sense, the director of one of the schools assured that in order to prevent the students from having to carry out their classes outside the classrooms or in the open, they even had to give up the management of the school to turn it into a classroom.
“Since 2019 we have been asking for equipment and chairs. We do not have a management office. We prioritize students so that they are inside the classrooms and we stay outside. Important documents we have to take home. This request is reiterative every year”, sentenced the man. Read More…
