Some studies point to the fact that we spend on average more than 3 hours a day looking at our cell phone. For those who use their cell phone as a work tool, this value triples or quadruples. We feel complete when we leave the house with our wallet, keys… and cell phone. Therefore, nothing more natural than wanting them to work at 100%, quickly.
But, as with computers and laptops, over time, it is also common for mobile phones to start to become slower in response, either due to lack of storage space, lack of a more recent software update, or excess of downloaded apps.
With that in mind, SPC shared five tips to make your smartphone faster without giving up your favorite apps and photos.
1. Always start at the beginning…restart!
We often forget that the mobile phone also needs, like any electronic device, to restart its system. We charge the smartphone but it is advisable to restart it from time to time. When this procedure occurs, the device resets the open apps, its cache and memory, which ends up slowing down the system.
2. Turn off device animations
Background animations or app transition animations can make your device much slower, making it difficult to use daily, so just turn off or reduce the number of animations in your device settings to have a smartphone faster. Animations take up your device's resources and RAM and the less you have active, the faster your system will respond to your daily needs.
3. Ensure free space on your smartphone
Check the space used in apps and files and take the opportunity to eliminate apps that you haven't used for a long time, especially those that use functions in the background. Do this regularly and delete or uninstall the app, ensuring that after doing so, restart the device to clear the data.
Also files that you downloaded at a given time but are no longer needed such as pdf concert or exhibition tickets, a work presentation, shared videos or photos. See the occupied space and eliminate what you haven't used for more than 3 months, always making a previous backup, saving it on SD cards or even in the cloud.
4. Adopt good practices
An action that you should get used to doing regularly, after using several apps on your smartphone, is closing them. This in itself will free up RAM space and make the device faster, as apps also consume battery, contributing to the slower device.
