Trump Rules Out Running Again In 2028
In a recent interview with the US news program "Full Measure," former President Donald Trump stated that he does not plan to run for president again in 2028. When asked if he would consider running again if he lost, the 78-year-old billionaire replied, "No, I don't. I think that that will be, that will be it. I don't see that at all."
Despite ruling out a future presidential bid, Trump expressed confidence in his chances of winning the current election, stating that he hopes to be "successful" on voting day, November 5. The former president is currently in a tight race with Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris, with both candidates neck-and-neck in key battleground states.
Trump's decision not to run again in 2028 comes after a tumultuous 2020 presidential election, in which he lost to President Joe Biden but refused to accept the results, claiming the election was "stolen." This led to widespread unrest, including the January 6, 2021, storming of the US Capitol by Trump supporters.
Notably, Trump has repeatedly refused to commit to unconditionally recognizing the result of the upcoming election, sparking concerns about the integrity of the democratic process.
