Vietnam Ranks Third in Southeast Asia for FIFA-Accredited Referees
Vietnam has achieved a notable position in Southeast Asia, ranking third in the number of FIFA-accredited referees, according to the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). This ranking places Vietnam behind Thailand and Malaysia, highlighting the country's commitment to developing its football officiating standards.
As per the recent rankings released by the ASEAN Football forum, Vietnam has a total of four FIFA referees, seven male assistant referees, three female referees, and two female assistant referees. Additionally, the country is represented by three futsal referees.
The current male FIFA referees from Vietnam include:
i. Ngo Duy Lan
ii. Hoang Ngoc Ha
iii. Nguyen Manh Hai
iv. Le Vu Linh
The recent accreditation of Tran Ngoc Anh by FIFA has increased the total number of FIFA referees in Vietnam to five, further enhancing the country's officiating capabilities.
In the Southeast Asian region, Thailand leads with a total of:
i. Six male referees
ii. Eight male assistant referees
iii. Three female referees
iv. Three female assistant referees
v. Five FIFA futsal referees
Malaysia follows in second place with a total of 11 FIFA referees, showcasing the competitive landscape of football officiating in the region.
Vietnam's ranking as the third country in Southeast Asia for FIFA-accredited referees reflects its ongoing efforts to improve the quality of football officiating.
