Watford's Asprilla and Martins on target at Under-20 World Cup
Asprilla's goal came in the 48th minute, just two minutes after Oscar Cortes opened the scoring. Shortly after, Tomas Angel also found the net, resulting in three goals within a span of four minutes after the game resumed.
Angel showcased his skills again in the 63rd minute. Although Timotej Jambor managed to pull one back three minutes before the end of regular time, Cortes seized the opportunity to double his tally in injury time.
Following their 2-1 victory over England, Colombia has secured a spot in the quarter-finals and will now face Italy on Saturday.
Matheus Martins, on loan from Watford, is eagerly looking forward to the quarter-finals. He came off the bench and scored for ten-man Brazil in their 4-1 triumph against Tunisia.
The Brazilians took control with a penalty from Marcos Leonardo and a second goal from captain Andrey Santos in the first half-hour. However, just before half-time, their hopes were dampened as defender Robert Renan was sent off for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.
Tunisia momentarily thought they were back in the game when substitute Raki Aouani scored, but the goal was disallowed due to a handball, following a VAR review.
Martins and Santos then capitalized on counter-attacks in stoppage time, adding to Brazil's tally as Tunisia committed players forward. Despite Tunisia managing to score a consolation goal through Mahmoud Ghorbel, Brazil emerged victorious.
Brazil's next challenge will be against Israel on Saturday, with a spot in the semi-finals at stake.
