WhatsApp is gearing up to launch a new feature that will revolutionize the way users react to messages. Dubbed "double-tap message reaction," this feature is already familiar to Instagram DM users and will soon be available on WhatsApp, another platform owned by Meta.
The feature is currently being tested on Android through the latest beta version, and users can access it by joining the WhatsApp Android beta program via the Play Store. However, be warned that spots fill up quickly, so act fast!
With this new feature, users can simply double-tap any message to quickly react with a heart emoji, similar to Instagram. This can be done directly from the media viewer screen for photos, videos, and GIFs, making the reaction process faster and more convenient.
But don't worry, the traditional method of long pressing on a message to open the reaction tray will still be available for those who want to use a different emoji. However, it's worth noting that the double-tap feature cannot be disabled, which might cause issues for users who accidentally react to old messages while scrolling through their chat history.
