Champion Crowned: Mahendra Makes Waves with 2024 WorldSSP300 Victory
Aldi Satya Mahendra of Team BrCorse has made history by being crowned the 2024 WorldSSP300 Champion, becoming the first Indonesian rider to achieve this prestigious title. This victory is a testament to Mahendra's dedication and exceptional performance throughout the season.
Mahendra's journey in racing began in 2015, inspired by his older brother, Galang Hendra. Over the years, he has built an impressive career, marked by multiple podium finishes in the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) in 2019. In 2022, he further refined his skills at the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp in Italy, where he trained under the guidance of MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi. Mahendra made his debut in the WorldSSP300 series in 2022, achieving his first victory at the Autodrom Most in 2023. That same year, he was the runner-up in the Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Cup before advancing to the WorldSSP300 series and following the SBK® Roadway pathway.
Throughout the 2024 season, Mahendra demonstrated remarkable skill and consistency, scoring points in every race. His campaign was highlighted by a standout victory at Misano and several podium finishes. Despite facing fierce competition from riders like Loris Veneman (MTM Kawasaki) and Inigo Iglesias (Fusport-RT Motorsport by SKM-Kawasaki), Mahendra's consistent performances ultimately secured him the WorldSSP300 World Championship title.
Looking ahead, Mahendra is set to move up to the Supersport World Championship for the next season, marking another significant step in his racing career.
Expressing his joy, Aldi Satya Mahendra stated, “I feel really happy. This has been my dream since I was a child. When I saw my brother race in SuperSport 300 and 600, I thought, ‘I want to be like him,’ and now I’m a world champion. It’s incredible for me, my family, and everyone. I’m also the first-ever Indonesian champion, and that feels amazing! I can’t wait for next year as I’ll move up to WorldSSP with Yamaha!”
Mahendra's victory not only marks a personal achievement but also represents a significant milestone for Indonesian motorsport, inspiring future generations of riders in the country.
