FG Approves 4 Airlines for 2025 Hajj Airlift
The Federal Government has officially approved four airlines to transport intending pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia. This announcement was made by the Executive Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Prof. Abdullahi Usman, in a statement released by the commission’s Assistant Director of Information and Publication, Fatima Usara, on Sunday, January 12, 2025.
The selected airlines include Air Peace Limited, Fly-Nas (a Saudi Arabia-designated airline), Max Air, and UMZA Aviation Services Limited. These airlines were chosen from a pool of 11 applicants after a thorough screening process conducted by a 32-member Aviation Screening Committee established by NAHCON on November 26, 2024. This committee included representatives from various organizations, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of the applicants' capabilities.
In addition to the passenger airlines, three excess cargo carriers have also been selected for the Hajj operations: Aglow Aviation Support Services Limited, Cargozeal Technology Limited, and Qualla Investment Limited. Prof. Usman congratulated the successful companies and urged them to fulfill their responsibilities as outlined during the screening process, emphasizing the importance of reliability and efficiency in the upcoming pilgrimage.
Prof. Usman also signed the 2025 Hajj Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah on behalf of the Nigerian government. This agreement solidifies the arrangements for the pilgrimage and ensures that all necessary protocols are in place for a successful Hajj experience for Nigerian pilgrims.
With the approval of these airlines, preparations for the 2025 Hajj are well underway. This decision reflects the government's commitment to facilitating the spiritual journey of its citizens and enhancing the overall experience of the pilgrimage. Nigerian pilgrims can look forward to a well-organized and fulfilling Hajj in 2025.
