How To Know You're Not Dating a Grown-Up With a Childish Mentality

9 Signs of Mature Love.

Mature love is something that is often talked about, but what does it really mean? Many people believe that mature love is simply a matter of age — the older you are, the more mature you must be in your relationship.

While this may be true to some extent, other factors come into play when talking about maturity in love. If your relationship exhibits these qualities, then you can consider yourself to be lucky! In this blog post, we will discuss nine signs of mature love.

9. Sex isn’t your only interest, or is it?

As we get older, our priorities change and mature. For some people, this means that they no longer feel the need to be in a relationship that is solely based on sex. If you find that you’re interested in more than just physical intimacy, this could signify that you’re ready for a more mature relationship.

On the other hand, there’s nothing wrong with wanting a physical connection with your partner. As long as both partners are on the same page about what they want from the relationship, then there’s no reason why sex can’t be part of a mature relationship.

8. Constructive criticism.

One of the signs of a mature relationship is handling constructive criticism from your partner. This doesn’t mean that you should constantly be critiquing each other, but it does mean that you should be able to have honest conversations about things that could be improved in the relationship.

In addition, it’s crucial to be able to take criticism without getting defensive. If your partner is trying to tell you something that they feel would make the relationship better, then it’s worth considering what they have to say.

7. Ownership over one’s mistakes.

Nobody is perfect, and that’s especially true in relationships. One of the signs of a mature relationship is the ability to own up to your mistakes and take responsibility for them. This can be difficult to do, but it’s important to remember that we all make mistakes and that everyone deserves a second chance.

If you or your partner make a mistake, don’t hesitate to apologize and try to make things right. This will show your partner that you’re willing to work on the relationship and that you value their forgiveness.

6. Surveillance isn’t always a top priority.

In a mature relationship, both partners should feel comfortable enough with each other that they’re not continuously monitoring each other’s every move. This doesn’t mean that you should never check in on each other, but it does mean that you shouldn’t feel like you have to keep tabs on everything your partner is doing.

Trust is an integral part of any relationship, and if you can’t trust your partner, then the relationship is likely to be unhealthy. If you find yourself constantly checking up on your partner or wondering what they’re doing, it might be time to have a conversation about trust.

5. Having a strong purpose in life.

When two people are in love, they often have a shared purpose or goal that they are working towards. This could be something as simple as wanting to buy a house together or as complicated & fulfilling as starting a family. Whatever the goal may be, it’s crucial to have a shared sense of purpose in order to maintain a strong relationship.

Without a shared purpose, it can be easy for couples to drift apart and start leading separate lives. If you and your partner don’t have a clear goal that you’re working towards, it might be time to sit down and talk about what you both want out of the relationship.

Of course, we never know with complete certainty what can happen in the future, but having a shared purpose gives us something to strive for and a reason to stay together even when times are tough.

4. No fairy tale BS.

Many of us have been raised in fairy tales, and as a result, we often have unrealistic expectations for our relationships. We’re taught that love is supposed to be perfect and that we should expect our partner always to make us happy.

In reality, however, relationships are seldom perfect, and it’s impossible always to be happy. If you want to have a mature relationship, then you need to accept that there will be ups and downs — but as long as you stick together, you can get through anything.

So if you find yourself constantly waiting for your relationship to reach the “happily ever after” stage, it might be time to reevaluate your expectations. Remember that real life isn’t a fairy tale, but that doesn’t mean your relationship can’t be happy and fulfilling.

3. Comparison is the thief of joy.

It’s only natural to compare our relationships to other people’s, but it’s important to remember that every relationship is different. Just because someone else’s relationship looks perfect from the outside doesn’t mean that it is.

Comparing your relationship to others will only make you feel worse about yourself, so it’s best to focus on what you have. After all, the grass can perhaps be greener on the other side — but that doesn’t mean that your own lawn isn’t worth watering. Read More...
