In a heartwarming announcement, actors Meagan Good and Jonathan Majors revealed their engagement during the Ebony Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles on Sunday. Good showcased her engagement ring at the event, marking a significant milestone in their relationship.
Good shared with E! News that the choice to announce their engagement at the gala held special meaning for them. "Ebony Power 100 is the event that we met at in the bathrooms, in the unisex bathroom," she explained, highlighting the unique circumstances of their initial encounter.
Jonathan Majors, 35, expressed his joy about the engagement, stating to People, "It's a season of joy." Good echoed this sentiment, adding, "It's a season of all the good things."
The couple sparked dating rumors in May 2023, and Good began attending Majors' assault trial in New York the following month. Majors was arrested in March 2023, facing allegations of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. In December, he was convicted of misdemeanor assault and harassment but was acquitted of intentional assault and aggravated harassment. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was sentenced to a 52-week domestic violence intervention program, avoiding jail time.
Despite the challenges surrounding Majors' legal issues, Good remained steadfast in her support for him. In a previous interview on the "Today" show, she revealed that many friends advised her against dating Majors during his trial. However, she emphasized her commitment to following her instincts and faith. "At the end of the day, one thing I know is that I can always look myself in the mirror when I trust my spirit, when I trust God," she said. "Whatever happens, I have peace in my heart and I have harmony in my heart."
Reflecting on their relationship, Good expressed gratitude for the mutual support they have provided each other. "The support we've been able to give to each other, the pouring into each other, the honest conversations, the love, the respect, just the care, and the thoughtfulness, it's been really wonderful," she shared.
Meagan Good was previously married to pastor DeVon Franklin, with whom she divorced in 2021 after nearly a decade of marriage. As she embarks on this new chapter with Jonathan Majors, fans are excited to see what the future holds for the couple.
