Mosquitoes, flies, ticks - find out how to best protect yourself against them
We have already got used to the fact that mosquitoes, ticks and flies are an integral part of summer . We usually assume that the bite of one of these insects, while causing some discomfort, is not anything special or dangerous. Meanwhile, unpleasant itching and a disfiguring blister may not be the only consequences of meeting these bloodthirsty insects ...
Mosquitoes, ticks and flies - small insects and big problems
Let's start with the mosquitoes - those annoying, but not deadly bloodsuckers. We assume that the varieties of mosquitoes occurring in our latitude do not pose a serious threat to us. Meanwhile, "Polish" mosquitoes are also disease spreaders .
Our native mosquitoes can transmit heartworm disease, an infectious disease caused by a parasite - a tissue nematode. Dogs are most often affected, but humans can also catch heartworm disease. Another dangerous disease spread by mosquitoes is malaria - associated mainly with the tropics. But still in the 1960s, malaria was also present in Poland and was called malaria. And in our country there are still species of mosquitoes that can transmit it.
Ticks are insects that have aroused considerable and - most importantly - justified anxiety in Poles for years. They carry viruses and bacteria that are dangerous to human health and life. The consequence of the bite of these insects can be so-called tick-borne encephalitis or Lyme disease .
Black flies do not cause disease like mosquitoes and ticks, but their bites result in surprisingly long-lasting discomfort. Their saliva causes itching, allergies and swelling . The latter, especially in allergy sufferers, may persist for up to several days and occur in the presence of fever. And by scratching the wound, as with a mosquito bite, we risk bacterial infection and inflammation, which - in extreme cases - may require treatment with antibiotics. Bed bites are also extremely dangerous for infants, in whom they can cause harara, i.e. dangerous poisoning of the body with substances released in the saliva of these insects. A child with harara may even develop pulmonary edema.
How to protect yourself from bloodthirsty insects?
It is best to prevent mosquito bites, flies and ticks by using so-called repellants, i.e. insect repellants. At the same time, it is good to choose products that work based on natural substances, such as essential oils . If we do not manage to avoid a bite, we can reduce our discomfort by using preparations that alleviate its effects. We especially recommend Ideepharm products .
Mosquito SOS Protective spray against mosquitoes, ticks and black flies
A protective spray against mosquitoes, ticks and flies by Ideepharm is a registered cosmetic with a mild prophylactic effect. The citronella oil included in its composition eliminates the individual smell of the human body (which becomes imperceptible to insects) and repels insects. Lavender oil contained in it repels insects (especially mosquitoes) and soothes the effects of bites. And thanks to the content of vitamin E and d-panthenol, the skin is additionally moisturized after using the spray.
Mosquito SOS Aerosol against ticks, mosquitoes and black flies
The Ideepharm spray against ticks, mosquitoes and flies contains two active substances that effectively repel insects (especially ticks, mosquitoes and flies) - icaridin and Insect Repellent 3535 (IR 3535). The action of both of these substances lasts up to two hours after use. The Mosquito SOS aerosol is practically odorless, does not irritate the skin and can be safely used in children from 3 years of age. Read More…
