Naturskyddsfà¶reningen Malmà¶: V and MP best for the environment
Every election year, the Nature Conservation Association releases a report on the Malmö parties' environmental and climate policy. There they ask the municipality's parties to take a stand on issues that the association runs locally. More solar cells, environmentally smart food in the municipality and zero emissions by 2030 are some of the 14 questions asked.
The result this year is in line with previous reports. The Left Party and the Green Party are ranked highest, while the Sweden Democrats end up at the bottom.
- We see similar results in the reports from national level and other cities in Sweden. It's a little sad that it doesn't differ and that the local parties don't go against the parent party, says Birk Andersson, chairman of the Malmö Nature Conservation Association.

On two of the issues, all parties were in agreement. The first issue is to strengthen the municipal organizations that protect the Bokskogen nature reserve and protected and red-listed species in the municipality. The second is that the municipality must keep track of the fact that none of its suppliers spread dangerous substances.
All the parties also support the proposal for more cultivation plots and more urban cultivation, with the exception of the Liberals, who only partially agree.
- It was very much an assessment, as the parties had very long answers, instead of yes or no. It may be that they are for an issue in some cases, but against in others, says Birk Andersson. Read More…
