Taiwan wins 1 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze at artistic gymnastics event
Taiwanese athletes won one gold, two silvers, and two bronze medals at the finals of the Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup, held in Mersin, Turkey on Sunday.
Olympian Shiao Yu-jan (è•佑然) bagged gold in the men's pommel horse final with a score of 15.050 for his scissor work and hip work that transitioned from Russians into circles, then smoothly in the handstand and pirouettes into the dismount.
Shiao's performance saw him finish ahead of Turkey's Ferhat Arican, who scored 14.450.
Meanwhile, Taiwan's Lai Pin-ju (è³´å“å„’) clinched a silver medal for the women's balance beam final for capturing a score of 12.900, while compatriot Lin Guan-yi (æž—å† å„€) won silver in the men's still rings final after posting a score of 14.500.
Lai trailed Ana Bărbosu of Romania's score of 13.950, while Lin finished behind Adem Asil of Turkey's 15.000.
Taiwan's Tang Chia-hung (å”嘉鴻) scored 14.250 in the men's floor final to land bronze, while compatriot Tseng Wei-sheng (曾為è–) clinched bronze in the men's vault final with a score of 14.100. Read More…
