Taylor Swift song ‘The Man’ can save lives says American Heart Association
Fans of singer Taylor Swift have received an intriguing message: her song "The Man" could potentially save lives. The American Heart Association (AHA) suggests that this 2019 hit possesses the ideal tempo for performing CPR. In a recent Instagram post, the AHA encouraged individuals to "Be The Man" and utilize Swift's song to maintain the appropriate rhythm while administering chest compressions.
"The Man" maintains a steady pace of 110 beats per minute, a rate deemed suitable for chest compressions, as stated in a report by the AHA. With over 78 million views on YouTube, the song's video has garnered substantial attention from fans. The AHA believes that this knowledge could empower young people to effectively respond in life-saving situations. Their recommendation is to immediately call 911 if a teen or adult collapses and then perform vigorous and rapid chest compressions in the center of the chest. Utilizing a song with a tempo ranging from 100 to 120 beats per minute, such as Taylor Swift's "The Man," can assist in maintaining the required rhythm.
Additionally, for individuals of slightly older age groups, several songs fall within the recommended 100-120 beats per minute range. These include the Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive," Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love," and ABBA's "Dancing Queen."
"The Man" serves as the fourth track on Swift's seventh studio album, "Lover." Co-produced by Joel Little, the song portrays an imaginative scenario where Swift experiences life as a man. It has garnered accolades at the MTV Europe Music Awards and BMI Pop Awards, while achieving platinum status in the United States with over one million copies sold.
