Tiësto and Alana Springsteen’s “Hot Honey” Is Out Now

Tiësto expands his genre purview on his latest single “Hot Honey,” a collaboration with up-and-comer Alana Springsteen. In the video for the country-tinged dance track, premiering exclusively on Variety, the Dutch DJ and singer-songwriter join forces to play with fire. Springsteen sings of being stuck in a relationship from which she can’t escape, lying on a bed hovering above a circle of flames before rain leaves the ground smoldering.
“I’ve always been drawn to the fun/party side and the authenticity of country music, so when I had the opportunity to team up with Alana Springsteen to make a country dance song, I was super excited!” shared Tiësto in a statement. “Alana has an incredible voice, which is precisely the texture this song needed, and I respect her abilities as a songwriter as well as her artistry. This is a different sound for me, but as you know by now, I like to explore and am inspired by all different genres when making dance music! I hope you enjoy this song as much as we did creating it.”
Springsteen explains that she jumped at the opportunity to work with the renowned musician. “How often do you get the chance to collaborate with one of the most iconic DJs of all time?” she said. “When Tiësto reached out to see if I’d want to get creative with him on ‘Hot Honey,’ I saw it as the most invigorating opportunity. I’ve always loved exploring sonically and being able to do that with dance music while staying true to my Country roots – that’s what excites me about being an artist and songwriter. I’m honored that Tiësto trusted me with this song, and I can’t wait to sing it live at one of his insane shows!”
“Hot Honey” arrives in anticipation of Tiësto’s Prismatic performances this fall. He plans to stage two four-hour DJ sets — one at Queens, NY’s Forest Hills Stadium on Oct. 25 and another at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Nov. 15 — in what’s described as a “sonic journey through the eras of his career.” Beyond the shows, Tiësto is booked and busy with festivals and Las Vegas residencies throughout the rest of the year.
