Water law began to socialize in Mulalà³
The Government chose the Mulaló parish (Cotopaxi) for the beginning of the socialization of the project of the new Water Resources Law ( water law ) within the framework of World Water Day .
President Guillermo Lasso, accompanied by several of his collaborators, assured that his administration will not allow the privatization of water , and added that the proposal - which will be submitted to the Assembly in December - aims to improve the quality of the vital liquid for human consumption, simplify procedures for its use and reduce its contamination.
“It is inadmissible that the current Law has been made without consulting all the actors involved, as the Constitutional Court has indicated! exclaimed the President, and rejected what he called “rumors and false news, which we already know where they come from. ”, he expressed.
To ensure that the new project does not have gaps in social participation, the regime proposes four axes: co-responsibility, representativeness, governability and the guarantee of rights.
It is planned to convene workshops in 38 cities where users, associations and social organizations will be able to contribute with suggestions.
While the Executive made this announcement in Cotopaxi, in Quito, CONAIE (headed by Leonidas Iza) marched to the Assembly for World Water Day , where it delivered a proposal of principles and mandates of the Law. Read More....
