Mozambique Secures 2-1 Victory over Guinea-Bissau in Africa Cup Qualifiers
Mozambique's national football team secured a 2-1 victory over Guinea-Bissau in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. The Mambas got off to a flying start when Ricardo Guima scored a stunning goal from outside the box in the 7th minute, sending the home crowd into a frenzy. Mozambique dominated early on with aggressive play down the wings, putting Guinea-Bissau under pressure.
However, Guinea-Bissau leveled the match in the 23rd minute through Mama Baldé, who finished a cross from the left side. Defensive lapses from Mozambique allowed Baldé to find the back of the net.
Mozambique regained control in the second half, especially after coach Chiquinho Conde made a triple substitution, bringing in fresh legs like Gildo and Elias Macamo. These changes paid off, as Elias Macamo scored the winning goal with a header, sealing Mozambique's first-ever win against Guinea-Bissau.
This victory boosts Mozambique's campaign in the AFCON qualifiers, giving them crucial momentum.
