Tunisia Kicks Off AFCON 2025 Qualifying Campaign Against Madagascar
The Tunisian national football team, also known as the Carthage Eagles, is set to begin their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifying campaign on Thursday against Madagascar. This will be their first game under the new head coach, Fawzi Benzarti, who took over the reins in July.
Assistant coach Othman Najjar emphasized the importance of thoroughly studying Madagascar's attacking and defensive lines to gain a competitive edge. The coaching staff has been working closely with the players, holding early meetings to discuss their approach and strategy for the qualifying campaign.
Tunisian defender Yassine Meriah expressed confidence in the team's preparation, stating that they have had numerous meetings with the coaches to discuss their approach. He acknowledged that there are no weak teams in Africa and that they will prepare well for every match, showing respect for all opponents.
After facing Madagascar, Tunisia will take on The Gambia and Comoros in Group A. The game against Madagascar is scheduled to kick off on Thursday at 21h Central Africa Time.
